Kochi: A 64-year-old person was sentenced to 73 years in jail for raping his 7 year-old grandson at Murickassery in Idukki in 2019.
A Fast Track Court in Idukki gave the verdict on the case registered under Murickkassery police station.
The case was registered under POCSO.
The case happened in 2019 when the grandfather subjected the boy to unnatural sex, media reports said.
The grandmother was a witness to the incident.
The victim’s father turned hostile during the trial to save his father.
