Kochi: The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) administrative committee head A Padma Kumar of CPM is one of the accused in the gold scam in Sabarimala temple by the police, Manorama reported.
Padma Kumar was at the helm in 2019 when the sanctum door frame and sanctum guards (Dwarapalaka) were removed in violation of the laid down norms for gold coatings in Chennai.
Accused number one is the so-called sponsor Unnikrishnan Potty.
The other accused are Thiruvabharanam (Lords holy Jewels) Commissioners Kalpesh, S Baiju, R G Radhakrishnan,
Administrative Officers B Murari Babu, Rajendran Nair, Sreekumar,
Executive Officer Sudheesh Kumar, Devaswom Secretary S Jayasree, Assistant Engineer K Sunil Kumar and Executive Officer Rajendra Prasad.
They are accused under non bailable offences of robbery, cheating, theft and conspiracy.
One FIR deals with removing the sanctum door and another for the frame.
Justice K T Sankaran, who was appointed as amicus curiae, began taking stock of the inventory in the temple locker. Later inspection of locker at Aranmula will be carried out later.
