Kochi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) nabbed banned outfit PFI former leader C A Rauf from Pattambi in Palakkad. He was arrested from his house last night, by surrounding his house.
Rauf had gone underground after the NIA imposed a ban on the outfit and was hiding in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. He also helped many leaders to hide. Last week the NIA raided his house from where the central agency seized some pamphlets.
NIA had intensified its efforts to nab him. Large number of PFI leaders are under the custody of the NIA in Delhi. Many leaders and supporters who took to violence following the arrest a few weeks back are in jail in Kerala.
The court has ordered the government to recover the damages of Rs 5.20 crore suffered from them as a condition for their release. Most of them are facing the threat of getting their property attached.
