PCC chief arrested

Kochi: Congress chief in Kerala K Sudhakaran was arrested on Friday in an alleged financial dealing case with fake antique dealer Monson Mavunkal, media reports said.
He was questioned for several hours by the crime branch earlier today, the reports said.
Sudhakaran had already secured an anticipatory bail from the Kerala High Court the other day by furnishing a bond of Rs 50,000 with two sureties of the like amount.
The Crime Branch interrogated him on the basis of a statement by complainants who were duped by Monson. The allegations against Sudhakaran had surfaced a couple of years back when he had dismissed them by saying that he had visited Monson for getting treatment as he had claimed to be
a trained cosmetologist.
Monson had duped many people in the name of fake antiques and other matters. He had earned credibility by publicizing the visit of then DGP Loknath Behra and other top police officials and bureaucrats to his museum housing fake antiques in Kochi.
Monson, 54, was arrested by the Crime Branch in September 2021 on charges of swindling Rs 10 crore from gullible public.
He was sentenced by a court for life imprisonment for raping a minor for a long period.
