Kochi: A government bus conductor was fired from service for allegedly misbehaving with a woman traveler in a bus in Vaikom recently.
P P Anil Kumar of Vaikom KSRTC depot was dismissed from service after an enquiry conducted by the vigilance department found him guilty, media reports said.
Earlier, he was suspended and a departmental enquiry conducted against him after he was arrested by police on the basis of a complaint lodged by the woman in Kottayam district in Kerala.
The woman accused the conductor of misbehaving with her while traveling in the bus on November 25, 2020.
The KSRTC had issued strict instructions to its crew to be polite with the passengers to rev up its sagging image. The KSRTC is in an acute financial crisis and it is paying salaries and pension by taking advances from banks.
