Kochi: A total of 416 marriages were performed in just seven hours in the Sree Krishna Temple at Guruvayoor on Sunday.The ceremonies began at 4.10 am and ended by 12.45 p.m. The previous record was 334 marriages held on September 8, 2024. The Devaswom chairman A V Gopinath lit the ceremonial lamp before the first wedding on the eastern entrance. Five other mandapams soon came alive as couples began taking turns to complete their ceremonies. The unprecedented rush brought a massive security and support operation into action. More than 100 civil police personnel were deployed around the temple.
