Kochi: Aggressive all rounder Hardik Pandya once again proved his fitness as he played a hero’s innings to help his maiden team Gujarat Titans lift the IPL 2022 title at Ahmedabad.
Pandya hit 34 and took three for 17 runs in the match against Rajasthan Royals led by Sanju Sanson who failed to play a captain’s innings to lay a challenging score before the rivals.
Batting first after winning the toss, the losers struggled with the bat and also lost wickets at regular intervals.
It was a one sided match as the winners banged Rajasthan bowlers mercilessly, winning the match with eleven balls left, losing only three wickets.
Rajasthan bowlers Boult, Krishna and Chahal
got one wicket each.
The losers could make a paltry 130 for nine that too due to Jos Butler hitting 39 and Y Jaisawal 22.
For Gujarat Titans, S Gill made 45, Pandya 34 and Miller 32.
