Kochi: Israel crossed all the limits in countering the terror attack by Hamas, AICC member Sashi Tharoor said today, media reports said.
It was a clear case of blatant human rights violation in Gaza, Tharoor, a former top UN official, told a mammoth rally organised by the Muslim league at Kozhikode, the reports said.
The number of people killed in the clash between Israel and Hamas is going to be much higher than that in the last 15 years, Tharoor, who was the chief guest, feared the killing of large numbers of children before the war ended.
He said the rally was not only for the cause of humanity but also for reinforcing democracy and secularism.
War knows no religion as Christians have also been killed in the war during which a church was razed to ground in the bombardment.
Many who took refuge in the church thinking that it was a safe zone fell victim to bomb attack.
Inaugurating the rally, League president Panakkad Sadikali Thangal justiifird the
Palestinians who he said were countering expansion plans of Israel.
He questioned the logic behind India’s position supporting Israel. India has a history of supporting the Palestine cause after realising the hidden agenda of formation of Israel, he said.
