Kochi: Over Rs 1,500 crore worth heroin weighing 220 kg was seized from two fishing boats near Lakshadweep coast, media reports said.
Twenty occupants including four persons from Kerala were held during the raid conducted jointly by the Department of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Coast Guard a couple of days back.
The drugs were believed to have come from Afghanistan and were being taken to Tamil Nadu, the reports said.
The boats were brought to Mattancherry here today morning.
The detained were being questioned in Kochi.
