Kochi: Former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president and commissioner N Vasu has been arrested in the Sabarimala temple gold robbery case.
Vasu was questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the Kerala High Court to probe misappropriation of golden artefacts in the temple for the last two days.
Vasu is one of those of the TDB accused of branding the golden artefacts as copper.
He was summoned to the Crime Branch office at Eanchakkal in Thiruvananthapuram where his arrest was recorded after interrogation.
Unnikrishnan Potti, Murari Babu and Sudheesh Kumar were earlier arrested in the case.
The arrested Sudheesh Kumar was the Sabarimala Executive Officer and later worked as Vasu’s personal assistant. Vasu had twice served as TDB commissioner. There will be more arrests in the coming days.
The case involves removing gold artefacts from the temple violating Kerala High Court restrictions and TDB norms to extract gold from them.
