Dharmendra passes away

Kochi: Legendary actor, producer, politician Dharmendra, 89, passed away in Mumbai on Monday, Times of India reported.
The former BJP MP, who was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on November 10 was discharged on November 12 since then he has been critically ill.
Dharmendra Kewal Krishan Deol was born in Nasrali in Ludhiana district, Punjab, in British India, on December 8, 1935.
Dharmendra ruled Bollywood for over six decades and did more than 300 films. He was last seen in “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” in 2024.
He studied at Government Senior Secondary School at Lalton Kalan, Ludhiana, where his father was the village school headmaster.
After his schooling, he moved to Bombay in search of opportunities in Bollywood where he got the break in 1960 with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. But it was Ayee Milan Ki Bela which shot him to the zenith of popularity.
Thereafter there was no looking back for him as he tasted success at every step.
Aaye Din Bahar Ke, Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Yaadon Ki Baaraat were some of his hits.
It was in 1975 when he joined Amitabh Bachchan to do Sholay which rewrote the history of Bollywood.
Films like Dharam Veer, Chupke Chupke, Dillagi, The Burning Train, took his rating to sky high.
At 19, he married Prakash Kaur ​1954 and
Hema Malini ​in 1980. He had six children out of which two are from Hema Malini.
He was honored with Padma Bhushan in 2012.
He was also known as He-Man and
Garam Dharam.
