Kochi: Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was denied bail by a court in Mumbai in a drug-related case on Wednesday. Aryan Khan, 23, who was arrested on October 2 aboard a cruise sailing to Goa from Mumbai, has moved the Bombay High Court against the order.
He was arrested along with his friend Arbaaz Merchant and model Munmun Dhamecha, and five others by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sleuths in decoy.A total of 20 persons have been arrested in the case. Aryan Khan’s lawyers argued in the Special NDPS court that no drugs were found on him while the prosecution claimed strong evidence from Aryan’s WhatsApp chats allegedly showing links with an international cartel.
The NCB has been probing a number of Bollywood actors and TV personalities since last year after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, on June 14 last year. His friend and actress Rhea Chakraborty was arrested in September 2020 for allegedly procuring drugs for Sushant. His family accused Chakraborty of abetment to suicide.
She was released on bail from jail a month after her arrest.
