Kochi: India posted a comfortable 6-wicket win against West Indies in the first of the three one day international (ODI) at Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Winning the toss, India sent to bat the visitors who could make only 176 runs with the help of 57 by J Holder, and 29 by F Allen in
43.5 overs.
Y Chahal claimed 4, Washington Sundar 3 and P Krishna 2 wickets.
Chasing the winning score of 177 runs, India started in a shaky manner and reached the target in just 28 overs.
Rohit Sharma made 60 runs, Surya Kumar 34, Ishanth Kishan 28.
West Indies’ A Joseph took 2 wickets for 45 runs.
Y Chahal was declared man of the match.
The second ODI is on February 9 and third and final is on February 11 at Ahmedabad.
