Kochi: After forcing CPM leader M M Mani to take back his objectionable remarks against K K Rema of RMP, a letter threatening her and others was received by her at her MLA quarters in Thiruvananthapuram.
The letter purportedly written by ‘Payyannur Sakhakal’ (Payyannur Comrades) indirectly threatened her for criticising Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the Left Front government.
It said that even if they lost power in the state, they would have to do something. The letter has been forwarded to the DGP for investigation.
The letter also warned Congress leaders V D Satheeshan K Muraleedharan and K C Venugopalan for supporting Rema whose husband T P Chandrashekharan was hacked to death in 2012. A hard-core CPM leader, Chandrashekharan quit CPM in 2008 to form his own party RMP.
Later, a court convicted 12 persons in the case including three CPM leaders.
Rema was elected to the assembly in 2021 from the area which has a strong presence of Communist supporters.
