Kochi: Former India captain Virat Kohli’s interaction with Pakistan speedster Shahin Afridi is going viral.
Kohli is seen shaking hands with Afridi who was sitting solo on the ground recuperating from his injuries.
They talk for sometime and Kohli continues to walk on towards the ground. India players K L Rahul, Yazhuvendra Chahal and Rishabh Pant also exchange pleasantries with Afridi and wished him speedy recovery from leg injuries. The video was captured by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
India led by Rohit Sharma will meet Pakistan in the inaugural match on Sunday. The final match will be played on September 11.
India last played against Pakistan on October 24, 2021, in the ICC men’s T-20 world cup in which Pakistan thrashed India by ten wickets. Captain Kohli made 57 and was bowled by Afridi who took 3 for 31.
India’s bowlers did not get a single wicket. Mohammad Rizwan made 79 and skipper Babar Azam 52 and remained unbeaten.
Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Hong Kong are vying for the Asia cup 2022.
