Kochi: In a major jolt to the Congress, former Congress Chief Minister’s son Anil Antony joined the BJP on Thursday.
Union ministers Piyush Goyal and V Muraleedharan, BJP Kerala chief K Surendran were among those present in the function held in Delhi on Thursday.
Former Union Defence Minister A K Antony’s son Anil had criticised the BBC documentary against the Prime Minister inviting the wrath of many Congressmen against him. Anil had tweeted his opposition against the documentary.
The reason he had attributed for his resignation was the widespread criticism against him for speaking in favour of Prime Minister. Anil was Congress digital media convener.
Meanwhile, KPCC president K Sudhakaran said that it was a matter of deceit that had happened the day of betrayal.
Sudhakaran said Anil came into the Congress only as the son of A K Antony. He had not made any contribution to the party. He had not done anything for Congress like shouting slogans, pasting posters, organising protests among others.
He said those who have migrated to the BJP are lying in the burial ground waiting for their dooms day.
Those who have left Congress under the dream of saffronising the country are living in the Fools’ paradise.
