Kochi: A Wayanad court on Saturday sent Reporter Broadcasting Company (RBC) promoter Anto Augustine to custody of the Excise Department for storing liquor beyond permissible limits.
The custody duration is 24 hours.
The liquor was seized by the police probing the fictitious football match organised by Anto Augustine by falsely propagating the participation of Lionel Messi and others of the Argentine Football team at Kochi in 2025.
The exhibition match was planned in association with the Left government which is under the purview of investigation.
The then Sports Minister Andu Rahmam is likely to be questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Anto’s bail application was rejected by a judicial First Class Magistrate Court and High Court of Kerala yesterday.
The High Court will next hear the case on Wednesday.
