Kochi: In a new twist to Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam case, two accused who are former bank officials expressed willingness to become approver to help unearth financial irregularities in the bank.
The bank‘s former secretary Sunil Kumar and former manager Biju Kareem have given the application in their affidavit before the court hearing the case related to the scam.
Their deposition will give more vigour into the investigation in the scam in the bank ruled by the CPM for several years.
Earlier, the ED had recorded their confession about the scam. The next hearing of the case is on December 21.
Rejecting the bail application of CPM leader P R Aravindakshan, the ED said his role in the scam is the tip of an iceberg.
