Kochi: A district panchayat president’s husband has been accused of burgling over Rs 1 crore worth ornaments from
popular Malayalam film director Joshi’s house in Kochi.
Mohammed Irshad of Sitamarhi in Bihar was nabbed for burgling gold and other precious gems while he was traveling to Mumbai.
The Kochi police identified him from the video footage recorded by cameras in places including that of Joshi’s house.
Kerala police was assisted by Bengaluru police in nabbing the accused.
Almost all the articles looted from Joshi’s house in Panampilly nagar have been recovered. There are 19 cases pending against him in six states.
