Kochi:Congress’ decision on Thursday to go slow on ED’s letter to Police to book former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in a bribery case exposed fear in the ruling party over the fate of some of its leaders and allies who are facing charges similar to Pinarayi.
Speaking after the State party discussed the issue, Congress Kerala Chief Sunny Joseph said the government will not take a hasty decision on the matter. A decision will be taken after examining the legal factors, he said.
Joseph said the observations made by CPM leaders are not convincing.
The Income Tax Department in 2023 had unearthed documents showing some Congress and Muslim League leaders accepting payouts from CMRL.
