Kochi: Subsidy under Central government’s
Sub Mission om Agricultural Mechanisation (SMAM) was distributed in the 16th ward of Arakulam village panchayat in Idukki district the other day.
Three Sanghams in Pathippally, one in Puthedu one sangh and one in Ashram were given equipment Rs 10 lakh for which the beneficiaries need to pay only Rs 2 lakh as 80 per cent is subsidy.
Implements including grass cutters, mechanised saws, water pumps, sprayers, trolleys, dryers, tillers were distributed.
The beneficiaries were imparted training on using the machines.
Jaihind Library president P A Velukuttan was present. Subsidies are given under SMAM varying from 50 to 80 percent.
Karshaka Seva Sangham officebearers K T Mohanan, V R Aniruddhan, T K Santhosh Kumar, Mohanan Unnithan and Biji Velukuttan received the implements on behalf of the beneficiaries.
