Kochi: A 39-year-old godman Rajeev, (alias) Achan Swamy was arrested for allegedly molesting a teenager at Mala in Thrissur on Thursday. The arrest was on the basis of a complaint lodged against him by the 17-year-old alleged victim. The victim had approached him to save the life of her uncle, media reports said. A mason by profession, the accused was allegedly practising black magic and similar activities. He had earned huge amounts of money through this, the reports said. He had set up a temple on the premises of his house. There are allegations that he used to perform pujas for rescuing those who were terminally ill.
Many people, mainly women, used to visit him for various purposes. Most of them were from other districts. He used social media to attract people to his temple. Many people used to stay here for days together. People in the neighbourhood had little knowledge about his black magic and similar activities. However, the police have not received complaints against him from others except the teenager, the reports said.
