Power hike by 6.6

Kochi: Power charges were revised in Kerala on Saturday after a gap of three years.
It was in 2019 power charges were increased in the state last by the Kerala Electricity Regulatory Commission.
About 25 paise was hiked for domestic consumers using less than 150 units of power each month.
There is no increase for domestic consumers using less than 50 units per month.
About 25 lakh customers come under this category.
There is no increase in tariff for domestic consumers of BPL families.
Categories like orphanages, old age homes, and Anganwadis have been exempted from the hike.
 Endosulfan survivors will continue to get the privilege of free power.
