Umran gets the cap

Kochi: The 22-year-old right arm medium fast bowler Umran Malik has become the second player from Jammu and Kashmir to play for the country in the first T20 of the against at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin on Sunday.
Parvez Rasool was the other player from J and K who first played for the country. 
Rasool played one ODI and one T20 against Bangladesh and England respectively. Hardik Pandya makes debut as captain. He also becomes the fifth player across formats in 2022.
Umran’s outstanding show in the Indian Premier League as Sunrisers Hyderabad player this year brought him to the limelight.
Bought for Rs.4 crore, Unran sent deliveries over 150 km speed and won the fastest delivery of the match award in all 14 matches that SRH played this year.
He became the fourth-highest wicket-taker by claiming 22 wickets.
Last year, Umran was part of the India A team which played three red-ball games against South Africa A.
Umran has become the 98th player to represent India in the shortest format.
