SFI target Rahul’s office

 Kochi: The SFI of CPM vandalised the office of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in Kalpetta for his silence over farmers’ plight in the wake of Supreme Court ‘s ruling on creating one kilometre buffer zone around Ecologically Sensitive Zones.
Congress and Youth Congress retaliated by blocking roads and marching to the AKG Centre.
T Siddique, MLA, protested in front of the office of the District Police Chief, Wayanad, seeking arrest of SFI activists. 
Condemning the attack, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan promised action against the trouble makers.
AICC general secretary (Organisation)K C Venugopal alleged that the attack was a ploy by CPM to cover up the left government’s failure to protect the affected farmers.
Kerala Opposition Leader V D Satheeshan accused the CPM of plotting the attack to appease the BJP. 
 KPCC president K Sudhakaran warned the CPM not to provoke Congress. The police should arrest the perpetrators, he said and demanded action against cops who facilitated
the attack.
Left Democratic Front (LDF) convenor E P Jayarajan condemned the attack. 
The CPM Wayanad unit has condemned it and has said that the party would investigate the incident.
