Poor fielding costs India first ODI

Kochi: Poor fielding cost India the first ODI against Bangladesh who won the match by one wicket at Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka today. K L Rahul dropped Mehidy Hasan Miraz while Washington Sundar missed another. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first.

K L Rahul was the top scorer with 73 runs while Rohit made 27 and Shreyas Iyer 24. India made 186 in 41.2 overs. Shakib Al Hasan took five wickets while E Hossain grabbed four.

Bangladesh reached the target losing nine wickets in 46 overs. Mehidy Hasand and Mustafizur Rahman played responsibly to deny India a victory. L Das made 41, Mehidy Hasan 38.

For India Mohammad Siraj took three wickets while W Sundar and K Sen two wickets each. Speaking after the match, India skipper admitted to the lapses. Rohit said the batting was not upto mark but the visitors did well in the bowling sector.

Bangladesh is leading the three matches by 1-0.
