Kochi: Coming to the aid of PWD Minister Mohammad Riyas, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that there are no differences in party on the issue of MLAs bringing contractors along with them to ministers. Riyas had said in the assembly that the MLAs need not introduce contractors to the ministers. Pinarayi said that what Riyas had stated was the party’s stated position.
Pinarayi said that a parallel incident had happened in 1996 when he was the Power Minister when an MLA had brought a contractor along with him. Pinarayi had said that it was not the job of an MLA. The issue had cropped up after A N Shamsheer had taken objection to Riyas’ statement.
