Kochi: In a blow to the people reeling under financial crises, the KSEB increased power tariff by 20 paise per unit, media reports said.
Those consuming less than 40 units per month have been exempted from the hike.
Those using above 100 units will have to 20 per cent increase in their bills
The revised rates came into force from yesterday. The Kerala State Electricity Regulation commission had sought 25 to 40 hike.
It was in June the power company had last revised power tariff.
Destitute homes, old age homes, IT companies and related institutions have been exempted from the hike, the report said.
