Kochi: In a major relief, the railways have introduced a special MEMU service from Kollam to Ernakulam junction via Kottayam from October 7 to January 3, 2025.
The eight-rake train will leave Kollam at 6.15 am and reach Ernakulam Junction at 9.35 am. It will leave Ernakulam Junction at 9.50 am and reach Kollam by 1.30 pm.
The train will stop at Sasthamkotta, Karunagappally, Kayamkulam Junction, Mavelikkara, Chengannur, Thiruvalla, Changanassery, Kottayam, Ettumanur, Kuruppanthara, Vaikom Road, Piravom Road, Mulanthuruthy and Tripunithura.
Increase in traffic in this section had caused untold hardships to people traveling to the commercial capital.

Introduction of Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod Vande Bharath Express led to detention of trains to give way for it affecting office goers.
