Kochi: India thrashed West Indies by 119 runs to sweep the ODI series 3 nil at Queens Park in the Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago.
In a rain-truncated match, the overs were reduced under DLS method.
The 22-year-old Shubman Gill was the star player making 98 runs, missing the century by just two runs.
Winning the toss, India made 225 for 3. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan made 58, Shreyas Iyer 44. Junior Walsh took 2 for 57. Chahal took 4 for 17, Mohammad Siraj 2/14 and Thakur 2/17.
Batting second, West Indies could not face the fury of India bowlers and were bundled out for 137 in 26 overs failing to reach anywhere near the target of 257.
Gill was selected player of the match and series.
The five T-20 series will begin at Brian Lara Cricket Academy at Port of Spain on Friday.
