Kochi: Shaikh Darvesh Sahib is the new chief of the team investigating actor assault and conspiracy against police cases in which actor Dileep is an accused.
Shaikh Darvesh Sahib replaced S Sreejith as the head of the Crime Branch.
The move comes at a time when a lot of developments are taking place against actor Dileep in the actor abuse of 2017 in which Dileep was jailed for 85 days.
Fresh case was registered against Dileep by the Crime Branch headed by Sreejit a few months back when director Balachandra Kumar revealed that Dileep had conspired to harm some police officials who were instrumental in sending him to jail in 2017.
This case led to unearthing of huge digital evidence against Dileep and others.
B Sandhya, who headed the team that probed the actor abuse case, 2017, was transferred to the police training department in January, 2018.
Sreejith, ADGP, has been transferred to head the Transport Department.
The other officials shifted are M R Ajit as ADGP, of the Vigilance and anti Corruption Bureau, Sudheesh Kumar as DGP
Prisons and Correctional Services.
