Kochi: Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the Super 4 Asia Cup at Dubai International Stadium on Friday.
Sri Lanka made a shaky beginning losing two wickets in just two runs. But they managed to bounce back to hit 124 for five in 12 overs chasing a winning total of 122 set by Pakistan.
Nissanka made 55 not out, Rajapaksa 24 and Shanaka 21.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and put Pakistan to bat first. Pakistan started on a bright note, but tottered as the game progressed and finally collapsed at 121 with five balls still remaining to be bowled.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam hit 30 and Nawaz 28.
For Pakistan Hasnain and Rauf took two wickets each and Qadir one while Hasaranga claimed three, Theekshana and Madhushan two each for Sri Lanka.
