Kochi: Iran and US teams met Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad before the peace talks to find a permanent ceasefire between US and Iran, BBC reported.
Iran officials met Sharief who also met US Vice President J D Vance accompanied by special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
The Iran team was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
The key in negotiations is whether Lebanon is included in the current ceasefire
Meanwhile, Lebanese officials say negotiators will meet with an Israeli delegation in Washington on Tuesday.
The US and Israel attacked Iran to neutralize Iran’s nuclear program and its advanced missile capabilities which appeared as a threat to the world.
Israel’s aim was preventative military action against Iran which consistently called for elimination of which constantly faced attacks from regional proxies like Hezbollah and the Houthis.
