Kochi: The Kerala High Court has sent notice to the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the probe into the Vaidekam Ayurveda Healing Village case against the LDF convener E P Jayarajan and his family.
The notice was sent on the basis of a petition filed by a journalist seeking to speed up the case.
The ED counsel said that the ED was ready to give an affidavit in connection with the probe.
The next hearing of the case is posted for May 22, media reports said.
The petitioner alleged that money laundering was carried out under the cover of the resort and a Kannur native involved in money laundering was an investor in the resort, the reports said.
In 2018, the pro-CPM Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad had lodged a complaint accusing the promoters of the resort of grazing the hillslope at Udupu near Morazha under the CPM ruled Anthoor municipality which approved the Rs 3 crore project. The Revenue Department conducted an enquiry into it, but nothing happened.
The resort came under the scanner of the central agencies after the CPM leader P Jayarajan allegedly raised the matter in the party, the reports said.
Following this there were reports of Jayarajan’s wife and son Jaison planning to sell their shares in Kannur Ayurvedic Medical Care Pvt Ltd, which owns the resort.
