Kochi: The Modi -3 government has started work at grabbing power in traditionally weak states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu in assembly elections due for 2026 backed by leaders like Rajiv Chandrashekhar and K Annamalai.
Interestilngly, non inclusion of Rajiv from the cabinet and his tweet are being used by media and political parties to paint a picture to show Rajiv a sulking leader despite his tweet making it clear that he wanted to focus on party work.
The NDA government is planning mega projects in these states to increase its popularity after seeing huge increase in percentage of votes in the Lok Sabha election.
The saffron party was on top in ten assembly segments in Kerala which has encouraged it to work to the hilt to improve its ratings ahead of the assembly polls.
There are also reports of the BJP working to create a third front with luring popular leaders from Left parties, Congress, Kerala Congress (M) and others with the support of 20 twenty of Kizhakkambalam.
The government is planning mega projects in commercial capital of Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikkode to win the hearts of the people.
Despite putting up an excellent show, the Congress is worried over possible exodus of big leaders to BJP. The Congress is terribly upset over losing power in the centre for the third time and does not want a similar situation in Kerala where it is remained out of power since 2016.
The party is also plagued by groupism which has reached newer heights.
