Kochi: Days after Congress MLA Rahaul Mamkootathil facing sexual allegations, similar charges cropped up against a CPM Kerala legislator K N Unnikrishnan, MLA.
Unnikrishnan has accused the Congress of conspiring to harm him and has warned of legal action against those spreading allegations.
A woman CPM leader K J Shine Teacher has threatened legal action over the cyber campaign against her in this connection.
Kochi cyber police have registered a case against a local Congress leader C K Gopalakrishnan and a former CPM worker K M Shajahan for posting objectionable comments on social media under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
CPM state secretary M V Govindan blamed it on the Congress for spreading “baseless” cyber campaign to counter the allegations against Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil who was suspended from the party.
Opposition Leader V D Satheesan said that the cyber campaign originated from CPM camps due to the infighting in the party. Satheesan denied CPI(M)’s allegations that he was privy to the campaign.
