Kochi: V B Binu was elected president of the 144 year old Kottayam Public Library and chairman of Children’s Library.Following the demise of Abraham Ittycheria, the Governing body of the library on Monday elected Binu who was earlier the Vice president.Oommen C Vengal was elected vice president unanimously.Binu is a senior lawyer of Kottayam Bar.He is office bearer CPI state council member, AITUC state secretary.He is former Kottayam CPI district secretary,Oil palm India chairman, Janayugam daily chairman and MD.Set up in 1882, Dewan T Ramarao was its president.
