Kochi: India beat Pakistan by five wickets in the Asia Cup final, but refused to accept the cup from Pakistan Minister at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Winning the toss, India opted to field.
Pakistan started on a bright note, with
openers Sahibzada Farhan making 57 off 38 balls and Fakhar Zaman 46 off 35.
Indian spinners struck menacingly and bowled out the losers for 146. India chased the target with two balls remaining.
Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets for 30 runs in four overs. Varun Chakaravarthy 2 for 30, Axar Patel 2 for 26 and Jasprit Bumrah 2 for 25.
India started on a shaky manner with openers Abhishek Sharma 5 and Shubman Gill 12 getting out cheaply.
Tilak Varma played an incredible innings of 69 not out helping India to make the victory easy. Shivam Dube hit 33. Sanju Samson made 24.
This was India’s third victory over Pakistan in this edition.
