Kochi: India thrashed visiting West Indies in the maiden test of the series by an innings and 140 runs in three days at Ahmedabad on Saturday.
Winning the toss, the Caribbeans decided to bat first and fell like a pack of cards at 162 runs.
Siraj took 4 wickets, Bumrah 3 and K Yadav 2.
In reply, India declared at 448 for 5 backed by K L Rahul’s 100, Jurel’s 125 and Jadeja’s 104 not out.
West Indies’ Chase took 2 wickets, Warrican, Pierre, Seales 1 each.
West Indies second innings was still bad with the touring team managing to make just 146.
