HC holds in-camera hearing

Kochi: An in-camera hearing was held by the Kerala High Court on Sabarimala gold scam on Tuesday, media reports said.
The Investigating officer personally appeared before the Court and handed over an interim report in a sealed cover.
The Devaswom bench heard the matter with restrictions to media and the public.
The Court had set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the scam.
The court had initiated Suo motu proceedings based on a report by the Sabarimala Special Commissioner.
Senior government pleader S Rajmohan appeared for the State. Standing counsel G Biju represented the Travancore Devaswom Board.
Advocate Sayujya Radhakrishnan appeared as an amicus curiae for the Sabarimala Special Commissioner.
Advocates R Sudhish and M Manju represented Unnikrishnan Potti.
The SIT is said to have gathered key information in connection with the case from one Unnikrishnan Potti, whom the Travancore Devaswom Board entrusted many gold cladded articles for refurbishment in violation of the rule book in 2019 and 2025.
Two different FIRs have been registered in connection with this.

Potti and officials of TDB are named in the FIRs as accused. The High Court has appointed retired Justice K T Sankaran as amicus curiae to monitor the preparation of inventory of valuables in the temple.
Justice Sankaran is expected to submit a preliminary inventory report during the same hearing.
Meanwhile, opposition parties accused the CPM -led left government of protecting the real culprits who are part of the temple administration.
The Opposition parties have demanded the resignation of Devaswom Minister V N Vasavan.
The Opposition demanded a probe by the CBI fearing the Left government would dilute the case.
