Kochi: Third arrest was recorded in connection with the gold robbery from Sabarimala temple today, media reports said.
Former Executive officer of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) Sudheesh Kumar was arrested for allegedly concealing information about gold-plated artefacts in the temple records.
Kumar was being questioned by the SIT for the last few days. He was produced before a court in Pathanamthitta which remanded him to 14 days judicial custody.
He will be lodged in the special sub jail in Thiruvananthapuram. Kumar was associated with the temple since the 1990s.
He allegedly documented the Dwarapalaka plates as copper instead of gold in 2019.
Kumar is the third person arrested in the case. A priest helper Unnikrishnan Potti was first arrested following which suspended TDB official Murari Babu was arrested.
