Kochi: The ED sleuths pasted summons at the residence of Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan and daughter Veena T at Thiruvananthapuram asking him to appear for questioning in connection with alleged CMRL-EXALOGIC bribery case at Kochi on Friday.
Pinarayi, wife and daughter were not at home when the ED officials reached the former Chief Minister’s rented house.
Former minister V Sivankutty and other senior leaders of CPM reached his house on coming to know about ED’s visit.
Meanwhile, there are reports of Pinarayi not appearing before ED on Friday citing the Assembly session and the matter pending before the Supreme Court praying to quash High Court of Kerala’s rulings against him and the plea seeking to quash the FIR registered against him, Asianet news reported.
The apex court is closed for Puja vacation and the petitions will be heard on October 26.
The money transactions related to CMRL-Exalogic deal led to registration of ECIR against prime accused Pinarayi, daughter Veena, her husband Mohammed Riyas, MLA.
There are two FIRs in the case with one against Pinarayi as prime accused and second against Riyas as Prime accused. Veena is accused in both cases.
