Kochi: Sexual abuse accused and Congress MLA Eldhose Kunnappilly was grilled for ten hours by the police in connection with a sexual and physical abuse case lodged by a teacher against him.
The police said that the replies given by him were not satisfactory and that he would be questioned again on Monday.
Eldhose, who went underground for eleven days, surfaced before the Thiruvananthapuram court which granted him bail with multiple conditions.
Meanwhile, the Congress suspended him for six months as the explanation given by him to the show cause notice were not satisfactory.
He said he was accepting the decision of the party and claimed he would come out clean and unblemished from the charges.
The accused argued that the case against him was politically motivated. The complainant, who is a teacher, accused him of repeatedly abusing her after promising to marry her. He also tried to settle the case by paying money with the help of SHO, Kovalam police station. She had given her statement before the magistrate court.
