Kochi: CPM workers attacked Directorate of Enforcement sleuths who were returning after raiding former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s house in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.
ED officials, who were injured in the attack by CPM workers, were taken to the General Hospital,
Three vehicles were damaged in the attack.
Police failed to control the irate CPM workers who smashed the windows of the vehicles while CPM leaders failed to control the cadres comprising SFI and DYFI workers.
Addressing the party cadre outside his house, Pinarayi Vijayan flayed the BJP which he said used the same technique to finish off opposition. He said the party was United.
The ED had carried out raids in houses of Pinarayi, son in Law Muhammad Riyas, MLA, in connection with money laundering case against Pinarayi’s daughter Veena.
