Kochi: Models’ death case in a road crash has reached a crucial stage with police getting vital inputs from Shaiju Thankachan who had chased them before the died in an accident in Kochi.
Police have retrieved evidence from the mobile phone of Shaiju, who is an interior designer, and was a habitual visitor to places where DJ parties were organised, media reports said.
The police have recovered details of those who had attended the party organised in the No 10 Hotel in Fort Kochi where former Miss Kerala Anci Kabeer and runner up Anjana Shajan visited just before their car mishap.
Many of them were Shaiju’s friends. There were numerous pictures of women in his phone, the reports said.
Shaiju had persuaded the models Anci Kabeer and Anjana Shajan to stay back in the hotel, media reports said.
Preliminary investigation showed that Shaiju was allegedly involved in drug dealings.
Police are investigating if he had any connection with the drug mafia. His whatsapp chats are being analysed. The Crime branch is likely to summon those who were present in the hotel, the reports said.
The police custody of Shaiju will end on Tuesday.
His car has been impounded by the crime branch from the premises of his office in Kakkanad.
The car was bought for Rs 20 lakh from a person in Thrissur whose name continues to figure in the registration book, the reports said.
