Kochi: Noted actress Kavya Madhavan has been summoned by the crime branch in connection with the actor assault case of February 17, 2017 in Kochi.
Kavya has been asked to appear before the investigation team at Aluva police club on Monday morning, media reports said.
The questioning is part of the investigation taken up by the crime branch on the basis of the revelations made by director Balachandra Kumar accusing Dileep of conspiring to harm police officials who probed the actor abuse case, reports said.
The summons is part of hearing her version on the digital evidence collected by the investigation officers while probing the conspiracy case in which Dileep is one of the accused.
The investigation team had prayed for more time from the court to complete the probe.
The court had asked the investigation officers to complete the further investigation by April 15.
The crime branch has submitted evidence showing Kavya’s alleged role in the actor assault case.
Dileep was sent to 85 days in jail in connection with the actor assault case before securing a bail in 2017.
The investigation team said that 20 witnesses turned hostile after Dileep came out of the jail.
Dileep had married Kavya after separating from his first wife Manju Warrier who is also a leading actor.
