Kochi: Eldhose Kunnappilly, MLA, of Congress has been chargesheeted in an alleged sexual assault and attempt to murder case in a court in Neyyattinkara in Thiruvanthanthapuram, media reports said.
Two of his friends are also co accused in the case.The charge sheet said the MLA sexually assaulted the complainant multiple times. The first assault allegedly occurred on July 4, 2022, at a resort in Adimalathura, the report said.
It also accused Kunnappilly of attempting to murder the woman by pushing her in Kovalam.A a departmental inquiry has been ordered against the Circle Inspector (CI) of Kovalam for not acting on the woman’s complaints. The case was transferred from the Kovalam police to the district Crime Branch.The survivor from Petta had made allegations against Eldhose on September 28, 2022 to the Thiruvananthapuram city police commissioner.The survivor also accused Eldhose of offering her Rs 30 lakhs to settle the case.
