Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Monday upheld a trial court verdict sentencing Muhammed Ameer-Ul-Islam to death for raping and murdering Jisha in Perumbavoor in 2016.
The High Court rejected the plea of migrant worker Islam from Assam challenging the verdict of the trial court and setting him free in the case.
Claiming him innocent, Ameerul had sought a re-probe into the case by a central agency.
The Dalit law student Jisha was found murdered in her modest one-room house in Perumbavoor on April 28 in 2016.
