HC stays release of Kerala Story 2

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Thursday stayed the release of the film ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’ scheduled to release on February 27, the Times of India reported.
The single bench issued the interim stay for 15 days while hearing the
petitions challenging the certification granted by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for the release of the film.
The petitioners expressed fears that the movie misrepresents the state of Kerala and the release of the film could incite communal disharmony.
The court directed the CBFC to consider the revision petitions filed by the petitioners before the board within a period of two weeks.
The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond’ is a sequel to the controversial Hindi film, ‘The Kerala Story’, which portrayed the alleged recruitment of women from Kerala into the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
