Kochi: Kerala High Court has warned to indict responsible engineers who fail to lay good quality roads in the city.
Coming down heavily on the engineers, the court said if they did not know the work they should make way for the talented ones waiting outside for employment.
Hearing petitions on the deplorable condition of the roads in Kochi, the court observed that the people deserved to enjoy using good roads and the corporation should realise it.
The roads repaired at the intervention of the court last time have been damaged so soon.
When the court asked what prevented it from taking up urgent repairs of the road using emergency facilities, the corporation said that it did not have such a facility.
The court asked the corporation to adopt novel methods available in the field.
The court also directed the state government to file a detailed report about the status of the repair works carried out in the state.
Issuing warnings against not implementing court orders, the court directed the corporation to remove illegal cables in the city.
